Between March 7th and 10th, some of our students from 2nd EM to 4th EM, alongside teacher Flávio, participated in the 16th edition of the largest Model United Nations conference in Latin America, BRAMUN (Brazil Model United Nations), which took place in the resort of Costa do Sauípe, Bahia. There, they took part in simulations of diplomatic relations between countries in many committees of the United Nations, such as the Human Rights Concil and the EU-LAC Foundation (European Union – Latin America and Caribbean Foundation), as well as a simulation of the British House of Commons, from the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

The event gathered approximately 500 students from 17 schools from Brazil and Argentina, and promoted a high level of discussions among the students and engagement with the different topics of local and global importance addressed by the committees. Over the course of the four days of debates and negotiations, our students stood out: João Vitor Oliveira de Souza, from 4th EM, won the award of Best Speaker from his committee (Historical Security Council), while Giovanna Kfouri de Lima Tigges, from 3rd EM, was selected to be the Chair of the Human Rights Council on BRAMUN 2019.

With that, our students showed all their competence and commitment, and represented admirably our school, which is getting more space in the Brazilian scene of MUN simulations. We`re all very proud of all of our students who participated in the event!
