The presence or absence of the family in the child`s school life has a great impact on learning, as well as on the integral formation of this human being.

We know that family institution has undergone major changes over the years. A few decades ago, most families were composed of father, mother and children, where the mother had the role of caring for the home and the children, while the father`s job was to sustain the household. Today, women have gained the labor market and have achieved the unthinkable, being able to handle multiple tasks.

On the other hand, men also began to assume functions that were previously intended for the women, and family responsibilities began to be divided more equally. Nowadays, the concept of family has changed, and there a various ways to understand its composition. It is essential for children that their guardians either fathers, mothers, grandparents, uncles, provide a family environment full of affection and respect, meeting their needs and rights, contributing to a high quality human formation.
School and family
The family is paramount in the integral formation of the human being. The family relatives are the first educators with whom children have contact, it is with them that they learn to speak, walk and form values that they will take for the rest of their lives. It is mainly through the experiences experienced in the family that the child will shape its personality.

The school also plays a fundamental role in this formation, contributing to the development of the citizen, providing a space for building knowledge where the child has the opportunity to live with other children and adults. These two institutions – school and family – are essential in the teaching-learning process. With specific roles, one does not replace the other, threfore it is critical that the two are allies and walk hand in hand.
Family responsibility
The presence or absence of the family in the child`s school life has a great impact on learning, as well as on the integral formation of this human being. Some actions that should be part of the family routine can make a big difference in a positive way are:

Show interest in the school life of the child, ask how was school, what they learned that day, what activity they liked the most;
Meet the teachers, talk to them about your child`s performance;
Give importance to school and classes, do not let the child miss without reasons;
Teach and encourage to take responsibility, delivering the work within the deadline established by the teacher, help in this process;
Go to school meetings;
Praise the child`s progress and acknowledge his efforts;
If any difficulty is detected, help overcome it. It is ideal to talk to the school about the subject, seek help and, if necessary, look for specialized professionals.
