Physics helps you understand how many phenomena happen.
As complicated as physics may seem, we can say that – and quite didactically – it is nothing more than the study of the phenomena of nature. Science called physics is of fundamental importance because it seeks to discover the general laws of nature to clarify precise processes. Physics encompasses countless areas of study, from elemental structures of matter to the birth and evolution of the universe.
The current goal of physics is to continue to understand how many other phenomena happen to be able to apply such knowledge in the transformation and improvement of several areas of science – such as astrophysics and physics applied to medicine, for example.
What is the importance of studying physics and understanding this subject?
Understanding the Universe and its Mysteries
Through physics, scientists have achieved the noble and essential goal of understanding, over the last few centuries, the vast and complex scenario of the universal phenomenon of nature. Only then was it possible to understand that the universe is not a simple set of random and independent events but manifestations of an indivisible whole.
Knowledge and a better understanding of natural phenomena
As mentioned in the introduction, physics seeks to understand the environmental manifestations. One of the most classic examples is the apple falling, which explained the Law of Universal Gravitation. It was on the basis of Isaac Newton`s thoughts on the reason that the apple fell from the apple tree instead of rising, that the famous English mathematician and physicist described with a mathematical formula what we now call gravity – a natural force related to the resulting mutual attraction between bodies.
Physics still explains many other natural events, such as mechanics, which studies movements; thermology, which studies heat; acoustics, that studies sound; optics, which studies light and, more recently, electricity, which studies electrical phenomena.
Understanding forms of energy
Energy has the capacity to cause changes in matter, and physics is the science that explains such modifications. This is accomplished through the study of the various forms of energy, such as solar energy, which comes from the sun; hydroelectric and wind energy are generated by the use of kinetic energy from the movement of water and wind, respectively; thermal, which comes indirectly from electricity (like the act of heating the iron); sonic, produced by sound (such as magnetic resonance imaging) and mechanical, used in the automotive industry.
Application of the learning of Physics in Technology
As we have seen in some examples above, modern physics is not only seeking this understanding but rather using that understanding to apply it to new technologies. Through them, it is possible to improve the conditions and quality of human life.
Thus, Technology uses this science to create intelligent, comfortable and environmentally friendly houses; safety, observed in the creation of alarms for homes and cars and also in biometric and iris recognition.
What stands out in the natural and health sciences are the Physics that are applied to Biotechnology, which develops new and revolutionary medicines and agricultural modernities; medical examinations performed by light or sound energy, in addition to modern surgical equipment, nuclear medicine, among other advances that allow us to live better and better.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the birth of the computer that revolutionized the world and the, no longer so futuristic as well, Robotics and its drones and other machines that come to assist or replace people in various functions.
