IB Open Minded Attribute – Brainwriting Method

During the week of March 25-29, 9th graders used the brainwriting technique to explore various possibilities and strategies for syntactic analysis, especially regarding the period comprised of subordination.

This technique concentrates on the Open Minded attribute of the IB Learning Profile as well as gives students creative analysis and use of adverbial subordinate clauses.

In addition to emphasizing both autonomy and the student’s ability to produce their own interpretations of the subject studied, students may also use inventiveness and criticality, especially when analyzing the work of peers.
